See what our partners are saying

I appreciate that ALL of their animals come vetted before they're up for adoption. Vaccines, spay/neuter, even MICROCHIP! They also go through a series of temperament tests.  I've gotten 2 dogs from them and am currently so in love with them I volunteer weekly.

I went to the event today (free microchipping for cats).  I may have even been the first one there. In an out with 3 cats in less than 30 minutes. Absolutely fantastic people!

If you’ve ever been to a shelter and have experienced the seeming indifference of the people whose responsibility it is to care and nurture these poor creatures, be ready to be astounded at the caring and concern of the people who work here and the wonderful people who volunteer at St Frances. Thank you, each and every one of you.

Foster homes are a crucial link to getting animals adopted.

How and When to Foster

When an animal arrives at the shelter who is not quite ready for adoption, we ask our foster volunteers to take them into their homes for additional one-on-one care.  This includes young puppies and kittens, nursing Moms with their babies, adult animals with medical conditions and adult animals who are anxious and under socialized.  The progress these animals make in a foster home is vitally important to their adoptability.

If you interested in helping with this important effort, please follow the steps below:

  • Complete the online foster home application  here.
  • Our foster home coordinator will be in touch shortly to review your application.
  • You must be 18 years of age or older to foster.
  • All other pets in the home must be spayed or neutered.
